The California High-Speed Rail Authority is reviewing alternatives to its high-speed rail plan, including track alignment and station location. The evaluation of alternatives is the result of two years' worth of public feedback. "It is critical that we engage communities in the planning process," said authority Chairman Curt Pringle. Meanwhile, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has denounced the state's high-speed rail plan, saying, "I don't think it's a smart investment."
