Fillers replace the scalpel for some consumers

Dermatologists are using new dermal fillers and techniques to go beyond filling in wrinkles to rebuilding facial volume in a comparable fashion to surgical procedures. Fillers allow for more individualized results and, unlike a surgical face lift, can be used to rejuvenate brows and jawlines, said Dr. Deborah S. Sarnoff, clinical professor of dermatology at New York University Langone Medical Center.
