Hilton quietly works to be a major player in the luxury sector

A Waldorf Astoria in Park City, Utah, is an example of Hilton Worldwide's effort to expand in the luxury-hotel sector. "In the past, Hilton was never thought of as a luxury-hotel company," said John Vanderslice, head of the company's luxury efforts. "We've done a pretty good job at changing that." The shift toward the luxury sector has not been easy for Hilton, but the company has come a long way under Vanderslice.
