Study: Long-acting insulin is effective for Type 2 diabetes

Patients with Type 2 diabetes who received once-daily or thrice-a-week injections of long-acting insulin degludec had stable blood glucose levels similar to those given daily shots of insulin glargine, a study in The Lancet showed. "Doses given three times a week might improve adherence and cause less disruption to the patient's lifestyle," the researchers said.
