Flea allergies are common cause of skin problems in pets

Fleas are the most common cause of allergic skin reactions in pets, according to veterinarian William H. Miller, medical director of the Companion Animal Hospital at Cornell University, who also notes springtime pollen can affect pets. Applying topical flea prevention to all pets in the household is the best way to prevent flea allergies, Dr. Miller says.
