Syrian exiles are wary of diplomacy

The leading Syrian opposition alliance has criticized UN-Arab League special envoy Kofi Annan for seeking a political solution to the rampant bloodshed in the country, saying such an effort had no hope of succeeding and would only grant the regime of President Bashar al-Assad more time to further target anti-government protesters. Valerie Amos, the UN humanitarian chief, was visiting Syrian refugee camps in neighboring Turkey.
