Obesity set to become leading preventable death

03/10/2004

The CDC yesterday reported obesity is forecasted to overtake smoking as the top cause of preventable death in the U.S., with poor diets and lack of exercise noted as the underlying concerns. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is launching a public service advertising campaign to alert Americans to the risks of inactivity and obesity.
