Caterpillar reveals plans for stricter emissions standards

Caterpillar Inc. has unveiled its plans for meeting tighter worldwide emissions standards that will go into effect in 2011. The company says its engines will feature particulate matter after-treatment technology, such as oxidation catalysts and diesel particulate filters, designed to comply with regulations in Japan, Europe and the U.S. "We will provide an industry leading technology solution to meet the needs of our global customer base in all the markets we serve," said Caterpillar Group President Doug Oberhelman.
