Serbia's government urges early election

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's political coalition collapsed over the weekend, prompting the government to urge President Boris Tadic to break up the parliament and hold new elections earlier than planned. At the heart of the conflict is the question of whether Serbia should cut its ties with the European Union over its support of Kosovo's recent move to break free from Serbia.
