Report: Stimulus might be too little to encourage e-records

Research from the information-consulting company Avalere Health found that the $17 billion in the stimulus package aimed at getting medical providers to adopt electronic medical records might not be enough. The report suggested the high cost of installing the systems could trump incentives and even penalties for failing to comply for providers in small practices.
