Cisco points way to planet-friendly packaging

By going on a packaging diet, Cisco has managed to reduce its environmental footprint -- and shave $24 million a year off its bottom line. By focusing on the use of lightweight, recyclable packaging for its highest-volume product lines, the company was able to dramatically increase transport efficiency: One product line saw a 450% increase in shipping efficiency, saving the company a cool $1.8 million.
