Study: FDG PET beneficial for patients with early-stage seminoma

A study of patients with early-stage seminoma who underwent orchiectomy showed that FDG PET scans helped identify patients with abnormalities in the retroperitoneum, which allowed for immediate treatment. The results show that FDG PET imaging could help prevent unneeded treatments among post-orchiectomy patients with early-stage seminoma, the researchers said.
