U.S. is cool to Greek appeal for reining in speculators:

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou's request for U.S. assistance in restricting speculation in the sovereign-debt market got a chilly reception at the White House. Papandreou said manipulation of credit default swaps has worsened his nation's debt crisis. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Greece should focus on fixing its economic problems and paying down debt.
