Gevo plans to convert ethanol facility to isobutanol plant

Gevo plans to modify an ethanol plant in Luverne, Minn., for isobutanol production, the company said. Isobutanol could be used as a blending stock for biofuels or as a component for bio-based plastics and rubber, said CEO Patrick Gruber. Gevo hopes to produce 18 million gallons of isobutanol at the facility each year.
