Green building research update focuses on benefits, obstacles

Green building practices are cutting back long-term operating and occupancy costs, improving residents' health in multifamily housing and, in office space, boosting employee productivity. That's according to a new report, "Current Trends in Green Real Estate," by a consortium of building standards and real estate organizations. The report shows sustainable buildings offer better returns, including a 4% higher return on investment and a 5% increase in building value.
