LaHood: No bailout needed for Highway Trust Fund

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood reassured lawmakers that the billion-dollar Highway Trust Fund remains solvent until September 2012. Congressional lawmakers concur that the fund might be unable to sustain President Barack Obama's $556 billion, six-year proposal focused on transportation and highway projects, but LaHood reiterated the administration's no-gas-tax-hike stance.
