Scientists cure type 1 diabetes in mice

University of Colorado researchers identified T-cells that attack the pancreas, causing most type 1 diabetes cases, and created a drug that fights those T-cells, effectively preventing the disease in mice. Additionally, the drug reversed the effects of diabetes in mice with the disease. Researchers will next move to gain FDA approval and begin human trials.
