Hospital: Tougher standards will not affect recruitment

Florida lawmakers are considering a bill to tighten requirements for nursing schools in the state after several years of falling exam scores. Mary Briggs of Lee Memorial Health System said the hospital supports more rigorous accrediting for nursing schools in general and does not believe additional quality controls "will adversely impact local nursing programs, or our recruitment of nurses."
