Ore. kills $2.8B Columbia River Crossing project

Oregon's Department of Transportation last week announced the "orderly archival and closeout" of the $2.8 billion proposal to build the Columbia River Crossing. "What basically happens is the $450 million impact to the state's bonding capacity will not happen in the short term," said Mike Salsgiver, executive director for Associated General Contractors' Oregon-Columbia chapter. "This means we can start discussion of other projects that can be funded."
