South Africa to introduce Chinese-language curriculum

Education officials in South Africa have partnered with officials in China to bolster Chinese-language learning -- among other topics -- in schools. The partnership focuses on maths and science, vocational education, curriculum development, teacher training, and research and development. "It is very exciting because it takes the relationship between South Africa and China beyond just trade relations, and into the mutual development for both of our developing countries," Ministry of Basic Education spokeswoman Troy Martens said.
