Cargill settles to exit multiparty price-fixing suit

Cargill said it will settle an 8-year-old civil price-fixing case involving it and two other defendants, ending its involvement in a suit by some 30 companies alleging collusion in setting the price for high-fructose corn syrup. Cargill, which continues to say it is innocent of the claims against it, will pay plaintiffs $24 million to exit the case and avoid further legal fees, company executives said.
