Florida state senator says FCAT may have been dumbed down

Florida Senate Minority Leader Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton, yesterday called for an investigation into claims that this year's FCAT administered to third-graders was simplified so statewide student performance would indicate improvement. Klein says he has received calls from teachers saying this year's exam was easier than last year's, which thousands of students failed.
