Georgia Board of Education votes to scrap reading curriculum

The state Board of Education voted unanimously to cancel plans to implement a proposed K-3 reading and writing curriculum developed by the National Center on Education and the Economy. The Board reportedly could not agree with NCEE on who would have control over changes to the standards set out in the plan.
