STDs, unplanned pregnancies major health concerns for young women

Sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies are among the most pressing health concerns that women in their 20s and 30s face, experts say. Human papilloma virus, or HPV, herpes and HIV all are significant risks; none can be cured and HPV is the most common STD among young, sexually active people, affecting about 5.5 million people each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
