Competition for engine market grows between GE, Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce and General Electric are in a fierce fight to supply engines to airlines, the Wall Street Journal reports. Rolls-Royce is boosting its efforts and last year, for the first time, sold more engines for wide-body jets than GE. Meanwhile, United Technologies' Pratt & Whitney unit has slowed development of new engines.
