Chevron to expand gas projects in Australia, Thailand

Chevron says it is planning a new LNG plant along the western coast of Australia to produce up to 5 million tons of gas a year from the Wheatstone gas field. Chevron shares ownership of the nearby Gorgon project with Shell and ExxonMobil. Chevron also announced a $3.1 billion expansion of its Platong natural gas venture in Thailand.
