To lower health care costs, invite disruption

The U.S. health care system is suffering from spiraling costs with no solution in sight. Doctors, hospitals and policymakers should look at how companies like Toyota, Target and IBM have combined new technology and business-model innovation to improve their products, the authors say. Industry leaders, they argue, must either welcome disruptive innovation or get crushed under its wheels.
