Wisconsin lawmakers consider banning fertilizer with phosphorous

The environmental committee of the Wisconsin Senate approved a bill to ban phosphorus in lawn fertilizers. The ban would cover fertilizers for lawns, golf courses and mowed grass, but the fertilizer could still be used on first-year lawns. Retailers would be allowed to sell fertilizer with phosphorous, but it would not be displayed on the main sales floor.
