China invests in metro systems in dozens of cities

China is constructing 11 subway lines in the northeastern city of Shenyang, with the first scheduled to debut in October. The project is just another example of China's surging investment in infrastructure: 30 other cities have either planned or started new metro systems, and five cities with existing systems are planning expansions.
