Host Hotels executive discusses cautious optimism

Minaz Abji, executive vice president of asset management at Host Hotels and Resorts, said he is cautiously optimistic after a small increase in occupancy and meeting bookings as well as more demand for luxury. "It will be slow to come back to levels we were used to in '08 and '07, but I think we're on our way so that's a very, very good sign," he said. Abji, who is responsible for managing more than 100 properties in the Americas, said 40% of Host's business comes from meetings.
