The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center believes that the corn-ethanol industry is "still in its infancy," said John Caupert, the center's director. The industry in the past two to three years has experienced technological improvements, but "there's much more to learn and prove in corn-ethanol production," Caupert said. "Some people believe that corn ethanol is an old technology. We believe just the opposite."
