Report: America's sweet tooth gets serious

American consumers are getting more sophisticated about sweets, seeking flavors that are complex and contain ingredients from around the globe, according to a trend report from the Center for Culinary Development and Packaged Facts. The report identified four major trends: interpretations of sweets from childhood; sweets as affordable indulgence; global flavors; and a desire for handmade, artisan treats.
