Soup manufacturers post lower sales

Soup sales have fallen 6.7% in the 12 weeks ending Jan. 23 and 3.3% for the year, with Campbell, ConAgra and General Mills all posting lower soup sales. Competition is coming from price cuts on easy-to-prepare meal options such as frozen pizza and boxed macaroni and cheese.
