Fed: Household wealth grows, but debt reduction slows

The wealth of U.S. families increased 3.8% in the fourth quarter, according to the Federal Reserve. Rising stock prices accounted for most of the gain. Households paid down debt for the 11th quarter in a row but at a much slower rate. Corporations kept accumulating cash, holding $1.89 trillion, the most since 1952.
