BNSF intermodal venture in Calif. to be eco-friendly

"The cleanest rail facility in history," according to BNSF CEO Matt Rose, will begin construction later this year. BNSF will invest about $500 million to build the facility near the San Pedro, Calif., port complex. "Expanding near-dock rail service sharpens the competitive edge that makes the Port of Los Angeles a global leader in international goods movement," said Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners President Cindy Miscikowski.
