Some states are slow to adopt higher Medicaid pay rate

It still could be several months until some states implement the higher Medicaid payment rate for primary care physicians, according to AAFP President Jeffrey Cain, M.D. Some physician groups are concerned that states are moving too slowly to modify their Medicaid programs to accept the new rate, which brings Medicaid payments up to Medicare levels for two years.
