Greater student collaboration, independence seen in flipped Pa. classroom

Walter Arnold's Advanced Placement Physics classroom is the first "flipped" classroom in Pennsylvania's Eastern York School District. Students watch Arnold's videos at home and work on lessons in the classroom, an approach the veteran educator says is promoting collaboration among students and increased independence. Scores have improved in the class, particularly among the students who struggled, Arnold said.
