IHS: CE unit shipments in China fell 9% in 2013

Shipments of consumer electronics products in China were 710.2 million units last year, a decline of 9% from 2012's 781 million units, according to IHS. The market research firm noted that China's government ended its subsidies for rural consumers to purchase televisions and other electronics, while China's currency rose in value, pushing up production costs.
