Joplin, Mo., sees nearly $1B worth of construction after 2011 tornado

Some rebuilding in Joplin, Mo., started one day after the devastating tornado that hit the town on May 22, 2011. Since then, close to $1 billion has been spent in reconstruction and new building efforts -- the largest of which is the rebuilding of Mercy Health System's facilities. If one counts two schools rebuilt outside the city limits, the total construction spend is over $1 billion.
