PwC: SaaS revenue growth surged in 2012

Software-as-a-service revenue in 2012 increased by 60%, to $20 billion, a PricewaterhouseCoopers report says. The growth is leading traditional software vendors to jump into SaaS, PwC concludes. "Boundaries between hardware and software are blurring as technology products are being commoditized and companies are looking to the value of software to act as a differentiator," PwC's Mark McCaffrey says.
