Small-business owners urge action on online sales tax

More than 1,000 small-business owners wrote to House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., urging him to move forward with a measure that would allow states to require out-of-state online retailers to collect sales tax. "While we understand your desire to pursue alternative ideas, we hope that the House of Representatives and your committee will move quickly and judiciously in 2014 to level the retail playing field," the business owners wrote.
