Survey: Liability rates for architects, engineers rose last year

A survey by Ames & Gough found that 79% of insurers raised their liability rates for architects and engineers last year, with 18% of these carriers imposing rate increases of 6% to 10%. Insurers said new business and renewals involving increased exposures contributed to premium growth, the survey found. "In large part, this reflects the gradual economic recovery that's contributed to a rebound for architectural and engineering firms," a report on the survey says.
