Tyson Foods Becomes First Major Food Processor To Receive BSE Warning

Tyson Foods has received a warning letter from the FDA dated Feb 12. Plants in Washington state were cited with violating regulations designed to prevent bovine spongiform encephalopathy from spreading in the U.S. The FDA's move signals its efforts to crack down on food safety regulations after a GAO report showed the agency is too lax in introducing stringent standards against BSE.
