Gene may make some people more susceptible to type 2 diabetes

A gene that helps control cells of the pancreas and liver can make some persons more susceptible to type 2 diabetes, scientists report. The researchers said the hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha gene regulates hundreds of other genes and helps control the secretion of insulin in response to glucose.
