Analysis: Too little handwriting practice hinders children in exams

Poor handwriting resulting from increased use of technology to communicate may be hurting British children's scores on standardized tests, according to recent research. Students who write slowly and sloppily in exams tend to score lower, and such penmanship is an indication that they are channeling more brain power into the act of writing than into the quality of the answer itself, according to researcher Rhona Stainthorp.
