Nutrition-based preschool program may help combat obesity

Two- to five-year-old low-income children who learned healthy eating behaviors in preschool ate less junk food and were less likely to become overweight, according to a new study. The intervention program included healthy school snacks heavy on fruits and vegetables and lessons for parents and children about nutrition.
