Teacher under investigation after writing controversial play on bullying

An Oregon middle-school drama teacher who wrote a school play about bullying is under investigation after the school's principal canceled the performance, saying the script was too controversial. Jennie Brown's play was performed off school grounds on Sunday before a standing-room-only audience, but a teachers union spokesman said Brown had been summoned to meetings with district officials about whether she was in violation of district rules governing the use of controversial materials.
