Britain to relax limits on liquid in carry-ons

The British government is planning to lift restrictions on the amount of liquid airline passengers can carry in their hand luggage following an upgrade of X-ray machines in airports. The limits have cost the U.K.'s aviation industry millions of pounds in lost duty-free sales and increased security expenses. Depending on the outcome of the equipment tests, some say the ban could be lifted as soon as fall of 2009.
