Heart-disease risk higher in overweight preschoolers

Overweight children as young as 3 years old can show signs of cardiovascular disease risk factors, a study found. Researchers said children with high BMIs and large waist circumferences were more likely to have elevated levels of C-reactive protein and lower levels of HDL cholesterol compared with children of normal weight.
