A Tennessee teacher is using voice amplification to help prevent her elementary-school students from drifting off or daydreaming during class. The device, which acts as a type of surround-sound system, also helps students who have difficulty hearing. "There's four speakers, two in the back and two in the front," said Janis Giordano. "They project my voice through the speaker and allow every child from every part of the room to hear me in the lesson."
